Adam Kwok's father, Thomas, is the second-oldest son of the late Kwok Tak-seng, cofounder of Sun Hung Kai Properties, one of the largest developers in Hong Kong. Thomas was the company's cochairman from 2011 until 2014, when he was sentenced to five years in prison for bribing a government official. In Thomas's absence, Adam has served as an executive director at the company.
