About Me

Anne Dinning helps lead D.E. Shaw, a quantitative hedge fund firm managing roughly $65 billion, as a part of its executive committee. The Seattle native joined billionaire David Shaw's firm in 1990, after receiving her Ph.D. in computer science from New York University. Dinning, who originally wanted to become an academic, started off building computer algorithms to forecast Japanese stocks. In 2002, Shaw handed over the day-to-day management of his firm to an executive committee, which included Dinning and other senior executives. Dinning has donated more than $300 million to her Corabelle Lumps Foundation, which supports Partners in Health and the Robin Hood Foundation.
