Cao Kanyu is the president of Shanghai-listed memory chip giant CXMT, which raised in July 2026 $8.6 billion in one of the largest listings in Asia ever. The company, also known as Changxin Memory Technologies, is the world's fourth largest producer of DRAM chips by market share, after Samsung, SK Hynix and Micro, according to Counterpoint Research. Cao worked at a number of semiconductor companies in the U.S. and China - including the chip division of Dutch electronics giant Philips (now NXP Semiconductors) and GigaDevice - before joining CXMT in 2017. The company's Chairman Zhu Yiming is also a billionaire.
