Soccer great Sir David Beckham made a fortune on and off the field during his two-decade playing career, and has continued to rake in big money since retiring in 2013 at age 38. Beckham has inked lucrative endorsement deals with the likes of Adidas, Hugo Boss and Tudor Watches. In 2019, he sold 55% of his brand business to Authentic Brands Group for $250 million in cash and stock. His biggest bet has been on Major League Soccer. He shocked the sporting world when he agreed to leave Real Madrid for the Los Angeles Galaxy in 2007, lured in part by an option to purchase a future MLS expansion team for a mere $25 million. His current 26% stake in the team he helped create, Inter Miami, is now his largest single asset. Forbes most recently valued the team at $1.35 billion. Beckham grew up in London's East End, the son of the father who fixed and serviced gas ovens, and a mother who was a hairdresser. He married Spice Girl and model Victoria Adams in 1999.
