David Kong, who also goes by Kong Hon Kong, founded Kuala Lumpur-based Nirvana Asia in 1990 and took it public in Hong Kong in 2014. Asia's largest death-services provider by sales, it runs private cemeteries, columbarium facilities and funeral homes in Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam. Kong took Nirvana Asia private in 2016 in a $1.1 billion deal with private equity firm CVC Capital Partners.
