The startup is backed by investors including Amazon founder Jeff Bezos, AI pioneer Yann LeCun and Google's chief scientist Jeff Dean. Originally from Belarus, Yarats cofounded Perplexity in August 2022 with Aravind Srinivas, Andy Konwinski and Johnny Ho.
