Firoz Mistry is the son of the late Cyrus Mistry, the former chairman of Tata Sons, the holding company of the Tata conglomerate. He inherited part of his family's 18.4% stake in Tata Sons after his father died in a car crash in 2022. The chairman of the family's Shapoorji Pallonji group, a Mumbai construction giant, is his uncle Shapoor Mistry. To reduce debt, the group plans to raise an estimated $850 million by listing privately held construction and engineering firm Afcons Infrastructure.
