About Me

Gary Chouest is the owner and president of Louisiana-based Edison Chouest Offshore, which owns more than 200 offshore vessels for the oil & gas and wind power industries. The firm was founded by his father, Edison Chouest (d. 2008), in 1960. Besides the vessels, it also owns shipyards and ports in Brazil, Florida, Louisiana and Mississippi. He also owns a stake in Louisiana-based shipbuilder Bollinger Shipyard Group, which makes vessels for the U.S. Coast Guard. His other holdings include yacht manufacturers Westport and American Custom Yachts plus Norwegian offshore supply vessel firm Island Offshore.
