About Me

Ilyas Khan founded quantum computing startup Quantinuum. Khan was born in the United Kingdom and started his career at British investment bank Schroders before relocating to Hong Kong and working with Citi Group and Nomura. He later ran Asia-focused tech accelerator Tech Pacific and took it public on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange in 2000. Khan credits a conversation with the British physicist Stephen Hawking with inspiring him to start quantum software startup Cambridge Quantum in 2014, which he merged with Honeywell's trapped ion computer unit in 2021. Honeywell took Quantinuum public on the Nasdaq in June 2026. Khan owns around 15% of its stock and is the Chief Product Officer and Vice-Chairman of the company.
