Joseph Baratta

About Me

Joseph Baratta has served as Blackstone's global head of private equity since 2012. He joined the alternative asset management giant in 1998 and moved to London in 2001 to help build the firm's European private equity business. Baratta serves on the boards of a number of Blackstone portfolio companies including Ancestry.com, Medline and Merlin Entertainments Group. Before joining Blackstone, Baratta worked for investment firms Tinicum Incorporated and McCown De Leeuw & Company and in the M&A department of Morgan Stanley. He graduated magna cum laude from Georgetown University and is a former member of the school's Board of Trustees.
