About Me

Justin Ishbia is the founder and managing partner of Shore Capital Partners, a Chicago-based private equity firm with over $17 billion in assets under management. The lower middle market focused investment firm has closed over 1,000 control deals in the last 10 years, making it one of the world's most active buyout shops. In 2025, Ishbia entered into an agreement to become the Chicago White Sox's controlling owner between 2029 and 2034. Forbes estimates he and brother Mat Ishbia already own 35% of the team. In 2023, the Ishbia brothers bought a majority stake in the NBA's Phoenix Suns and WNBA's Phoenix Mercury in a deal that valued the teams at $4 billion. Mat is the controlling owner. Justin serves as alternate governor of the Suns, Mercury and Major League Soccer's Nashville SC, in which he owns a minority stake. He is also a director and owns 19% of mortgage lender UWM holdings, which his father founded in 1986 and his brother Mat now runs. Mat is also a billionaire.
