Koo Bon-sik is the chairman of LT group, which has interest in precious metals, advanced materials and electronics. He owns a stake in Heesung Electronics, which is run by his brother, Koo Bon-neung, also one of the richest people in South Korea. Bon-sik is the youngest of the four Koo brothers of the LG Group, cofounded in 1947 by their late grandfather Koo In-hwoi.
