About Me

Lee Jay-hyun is chairman of the CJ Group, a conglomerate that operates the country's largest food and beverage company, CJ Cheiljedang. He is the eldest grandson of the late Samsung founder Lee Byung-chull; CJ officially separated from Samsung in 1997. In 2015, Lee Jay-hyun was convicted and sentenced to two and a half years in jail on embezzlement and tax evasion charges. In 2016, he was pardoned by then president Park Geun-hye and returned to his post in 2017. He is facing a new tax evasion probe in 2025.
