About Me

Chae has served as chief financial officer of alternative asset management giant Blackstone since 2015. He was named vice chairman in January 2025. Chae joined Blackstone in 1997 and ran its international private equity business before being tapped to oversee the firm's finances. Chae previously worked at alternative asset manager The Caryle Group and investment bank Dillon, Read & Co. Chae is an alum of Harvard, Yale and Cambridge. He is a director of the Harvard Management Company and founder of the Chae Initiative in Private Sector Leadership at Yale Law School. He is also a member of the Council on Foreign Relations.
