About Me

Mike Hollingshead is founder and chairman of $3.5 billion (2025 revenue) concrete maker Smyrna Ready Mix (SRM). He started the company with his wife in 1999, when he built his first concrete plant in his Smyrna, Tennessee backyard. SRM is now the largest producer of ready mix concrete in the U.S., with 18.7 million cubic yards produced in 2025. Hollingshead's son Jeff has served as CEO since 2014. Jeff's younger brother Ryan runs the company's small but growing aggregates (otherwise known as rock, sand and gravel) division. Hollingshead and his immediate family own 100% of SRM.
