About Me

Peter-Alexander Wacker owns around 10% of chemical company Wacker Chemie AG, founded by his great-grandfather Alexander Wacker in 1914. He worked for BMW for ten years before joining Wacker Chemie in 1993 as a member of the board, when it was still a privately owned company. When Wacker went public in November 2005, Peter-Alexander became CEO. In 2008, he stepped down and became chairman of the supervisory board. Wacker Chemie has an annual revenue of more than $6 billion and sells its products in over 100 countries. In 2016, the company began producing polysilicon (used for solar cells and semiconductors) at a new facility in Bradley County, Tennessee.
