Peter Ludwig

About Me

Peter Ludwig is the cofounder and CTO of vehicle software startup Applied Intuition. The company develops operating systems and simulation tools designed to power everything from planes and tanks to automobiles. Ludwig and cofounder Qasar Younis initially focused on selling simulators and tools to self-driving car startups but expanded to work with major car makers like General Motors, Nissan and Volkswagen. The Sunnyvale, California-based company was last valued at $15 billion when it raised a $600 million fund round in June 2025. Ludwig grew up in Detroit, Michigan, where his father, and grandfather both worked for car-maker General Motors. He studied engineering at the University of Michigan then took a job with Google, where he worked with future Younis on Google Maps, and later helped develop Android's automotive software.
