Sara Blakely is the founder and part owner of shapewear brand Spanx, which sells undergarments, leggings and apparel. In late 2021, Blackstone bought a majority stake in Spanx in a deal that valued the company at $1.2 billion. In August 2024, Blakely launched Sneex, a line of high-heeled sneakers priced at $395 and up that she designed to be comfortable. A onetime door-to-door fax machine salesperson, Blakely first created Spanx using pantyhose to wear under white slacks. While Spanx is a celebrity favorite, Blakely is becoming a celebrity herself. She was a guest judge on 'Shark Tank' and had a cameo in 'Billions.'
