About Me

Wang Xing is the chairman and CEO of Hong Kong-listed Meituan, which was created through a 2015 merger of Groupon-like group buying site Meituan and Yelp-like Dianping.com. Wang cofounded China's first college social network xiaonei.com, which was sold to Oak Pacific Interactive in 2006. After growing Meituan into a food-delivery heavyweight in mainland China, Wang is also expanding in locations including Hong Kong, Qatar and Saudi Arabia. Wang in 2021 transferred shares at the time worth more than $2 billion to his foundation amid a China antitrust investigation.
