About Me

Warren Kanders is the chairman and CEO of Jacksonville, Florida-based Cadre Holdings, which makes equipment for defense, law enforcement and nuclear safety. In 1996, Kanders started buying up defense businesses with Robert Schiller and formed Armor Holdings. The pair sold the firm to BAE Systems for $4.5 billion in 2007. In 2012, Kanders bought back some of those businesses, collectively known as Safariland, for $124 million alongside Safariland's management team. He later reorganized Safariland and other defense and law enforcement suppliers under Cadre Holdings and took it public in 2021; he owns 28% of the firm. In 2024, he bought L3Harris' antenna and test equipment business for $200 million and formed defense products manufacturer Fisica.
