About Me

Wes Edens cofounded asset manager Fortress Investment Group in 1998. A former BlackRock partner, Edens first became a billionaire alongside his four cofounders when Fortress went public in 2007. Fortress was acquired by SoftBank in 2017 for $3.3 billion. Edens walked away with about $500 million pretax. He is the CEO of publicly traded liquefied natural gas company New Fortress Energy. He is a co-owner of the NBA's Milwaukee Bucks, Premier League soccer team Aston Villa and Portugal's Vitoria Club Sport soccer club. His Brightline railway, the only private passenger line in the U.S., operates high-speed trains from Orlando to Miami.
