About Me

David Chen is a cofounder of Singapore-headquartered online gaming and e-commerce firm Sea, best known for its hit mobile game, Free Fire. He is the chief product officer of Shopee, the e-commerce unit of the NYSE-listed company. Previously he was Sea's chief operating officer and chief of staff. Chen cofounded Sea in 2009 with Forrest Li and Gang Ye. In 2023, Sea booked its first-ever annual net profit since its IPO in 2017. Sea has rolled out digital banking services in Southeast Asia, Taiwan and Brazil.
