In December 2022, Checkout.com marked down its internal valuation to $11 billion, as fintech valuations tumbled during the year; a year later it was lowered to $9.35 billion. In 2025, it rose to $12 billion, according to the company. Pousaz, who is CEO of Checkout.com, owns an estimated nearly two-thirds of the London-based company. The Swiss citizen dropped out of college to go surfing in California before working in fintech and payments. He is known for his obsession with endurance athletics and lives in London with his family.
