About Me

Shintaro Tsuji is founder and honorary chairman of Sanrio, the Japanese creator of Hello Kitty. He founded it as a gifts company in 1960 and went on to create the bestselling Hello Kitty character. Tsuji's son Kunihiko died in 2013 and he passed the baton to his grandson Tomokuni, who is now Sanrio's CEO. Sanrio, which operates two amusement parks in Japan, posted over $1 billion in revenue in the fiscal year through March 2025.
