Theodore Rachmat, known as Teddy, founded Triputra group in 1998; its business lines now include agriculture, manufacturing and mining. Rachmat owns a minority stake in listed coal company Alamtri Resources Indonesia, formerly Adaro Energy, where he is vice president commissioner. He started out at automotive group Astra International, founded by his uncle William Soeryadjaya, in 1968. He eventually became CEO. His son Ariano is vice president director and deputy CEO of Alamtri Resources; son Arif Patrick, who worked for GE for seven years, is cofounder and chairman of palm oil giant Triputra Agro Persada. Alamtri Resources listed its thermal coal unit Adaro Andalan Indonesia in 2024, raising $259 million.
