About Me

Timur Turlov is the CEO and founder of Freedom Holding, a Kazakhstan-based retail brokerage; it operates in Central Asia, Europe and the U.S. Freedom Holding gives post-Soviet citizens access to American and European stock exchanges and specializes in IPOs. The company entered the U.S. in 2015 through a shell of a Kazakh oil and gas exploration entity located in Nevada. Freedom Holding began trading on the Nasdaq in 2019, an event that Turlov calls his proudest accomplishment to date. Turlov says he started the company in 2008 (before he finished college) with $100,000 pooled with his cofounders.
